I happened upon this hole-in-the-wall restaurant on my very first day in Paris, looking for literally anything to eat. Don't let the small storefront fool you- this place is fantastic and very well priced.

I tried out the octopus ceviche, which is not to be missed and is served up in a delicious blend of lemon juice (or is it lime?) and spices. The octopus, or pulpo, is perfectly tender and utterly delicious, but you'll also find shrimp, scallops, clams, and more.

For my main course I wanted my fish slightly more cooked, so I tried the parihuela, which is a mix of fish, shellfish, and tentacled critters in a spicy broth. This definitely needs the lemon that accompanies it, but goodness, it's hearty and perfect for a winter day.

Taking off a star because the waitress brought me the wrong octopus dish (I ordered octopus in oil but ended up with the ceviche, which was pricier), but keeping the rest because the food is excellent.

A super authentic hole in the wall. Food was generously positioned. My mate had spent time in Peru doing tropical med. She was super stoked and El Pulpo did not disappoint.  We had the Milanesa del Pollo and Lomo Saltado. The chicken was crispy but juicy. The Lomo Saltado was absolutely delish!. Super comforting food that hit the bliss point.
Recommended for a homey cheap eat for less than 25 euros for 2.

Wow! After walking passed Pulpo a couple of times I thought why not give it a try, wrong! Worst mistake ever! A lady who seems to be the restaurant owner has no customer service whatsoever! Treated me as if I was begging for food. If you happen to pass by do yourself a favor and keep on going.

Well I have to say that I like this place. That being said, the service can be a bit slow and some of the dishes are not amazing. This is a very authentic Peruvian place with ceviche and various chicharones.

They say they are a cevicheria and so I have had the ceviche mixo (there is also one that is fish only) several times. However, only once did it come with sweet potatoes once and it was amazing (especially with their home made hot sauce). The other times that I have ordered it, they served it with regular potatoes and these were bland (not good) and did not give the same effect to my disappointment. In fact, I would consider asking in advance if there are sweet potatoes available and not eating there if they don't have any....

For me, the prices are a little bit high compared to the quality that results. I would recommend the ceviche if they have sweet potatoes, the chicharones (mixed seafood or pork), and the steak (very tender). Even still, most of the plates are not really big enough to fill you up. One exception is the soup that they serve for lunch sometimes (with pork and Lima beans), which is really good and definitely worth a taste - and moreover it should fill you up.

Drink-wise, besides the Inca Cola and Peruvian beers, they make a basic pisco sour that is pretty good. However, for 6.50 euros, I would like to have real eggs and lime and I think that what they are mixing in is processed (like egg whites from a bottle and canned lime juice). They also have a traditional sweet corn juice drink from Peru but I was not particularly impressed. One of my friends with me was Peruvian and she was also unimpressed.

Overall, I like the idea but I am not super inclined to return here often...

This place was great. I was on vacation and surprisingly stumbled upon a Peruvian restaurant. My wife is Peruvian and she and I agreed that this place is legit. We ate the ceviche and bistek a lo pobre.
